Song Choices

 This song is called Little Lion Man by Mumford & Sons

 The lyrics in this song apply to my characters confidence but also the downfall he is going to be subject too throughout the imagined film. In my short sequence taken from my imagined film, this song would be ideal as the lyrics imply to the audience what is coming.

The lyrics "take all the courage you have left" are a sign for what is coming with the drugs and the gangs that he has to step up the courage to go against.

 This song is called Losing My Religion by R.E.M

 The lyrics on this song would match the feelings my character begins to get towards the job. Although we see him as a eccentric character however, in my synopsis it states that towards the end of the film he is up against the gangs who get away with his crime; he begins to loose his faith in the police force. Therefore "losing my religion"

 This song was chosen specifically due to the drums in the background of the song, I felt that the drums have a strong feel for a neo noir style. The minimal instruments used in the soundtrack matched the stylistics of the neo-noir and contemporary thriller style that I am interested in.

The reason I chose not to use this song was because I felt that the pop beat did not match the genre I wanted the audience to feel when they watched my opening montage sequence.

Health And Safety Consideration

This is a list taken from a filming website which states what health and safety considerations must be considered:

Equipment:

• We are responsible for all equipment and should not let anyone other than ourselves use it.
• Only use equipment which we are comfortable using, and make sure that we know how to use all equipment before we begin.
• Avoid any accidents such as falls by putting away equipment and props that aren't being used (tripods, etc.)
• Wires must be out of any walk ways and wires must be clearly seen for safety reasons.

Location:

• The chosen location for filming must be safe and have been risk assessed.
• All participants must be comfortable and aware of where filming will be taking place.
• Be careful of any weather conditions in your chosen area, as hazards such as icy roads may halt production.
• Adequate welfare facilities must be provided at all times. This includes toilets, drinking water, and a place to rest.

Props:

• All props must be safe and agreed upon by all members of filming.
• All costs of props must be shared out equally amongst the group, and props should be from responsible sources.

Camera Booking Log

I have spoken to the media technician: Ray Hutty, and I have booked a camera from the 15/11/2012 - 19/112012.

Day 1 of filming on the 15/11/2012 goes up to shot number 20. in which the end of the film is shown at the beginning of my imagined sequence. I am to be shooting these sequences in the forrest in the Appleton Area, approximately 5 minutes away from college.

I have again booked a camera from the 13/12/12 - 17/12/12.

I have booked a camera to shoot the scenes of my character within his house, getting ready to the song 'Fallout'

The scenes will be shot inside an old victorian house on Westbourne Avenue in Hull, the scenes will consist of medium close ups, and close ups in order to feel like we are getting to know the character. The character, Guy, is overly confident about himself, seeing himself as a 'stud' to all women. The scenes of him in his room, will consist of him looking lovingly at himself in the mirror, and also following his daily getting ready routine - including moisterising and gelling his hair.

Another aspect of the film that I will be filming, is that similar to the ones I anaylysed in the opening of the dragon tattoo, close ups of things that mean something to the film later on, this may be: knifes, guns, police badges. All of this will happen as whilst the credit are being rolled, after this scene there will be an introduction to the character through voice over.

Int. Bedroom – The morning
 

Shot 1: Guy MCkenzie

Ext. Forrest - Midday


Walking through the forrest looking around worryingly, frantically searching for STella.


Int . Kitchen - Morning

Making a cup of tea and still looking around happily, looking very happy with himself. He is stirring his tea but then looking into the spoon to check his own reflection in the mirror.


Int. Kitchen - Night


Pan down of a knife, looking down it slowly with blood dripping. No movement of anybody around the area at all, however, The blood is dripping in slow motion.


Int. Bedroom - The morning


Guy Mckenzie brushing his teeth to the rhymn of the beat, dancing around the room. He is constantly looking at the white of his teeth.

Int. Kitchen - Night

Slams down a whiskey bottle, baggy eyes, looking very exhausted. He almost callapses onto his very messy sides, then falls backwards.


Int. Bedroom - The morning


Pulling his head up from rinsing his face in the sink. Direct match to the earlier shot to show the differences between his character. He is very bright eyed, hair done nicely, he is very happy with the way he looks


Int. Plain Room

*Lights come up*

Steve: Is it on, is it on?

*Camera comes into focus*

Steve: Right, you’re probably wondering why someone like me, would make a film admitting to killing people. Well it’s not quite like that, y’see not everything is like in the movies. When I was younger I grew a flower, pretty it was, white with a bright yellow middle, I picked it for my mum, she loved it, how she cried when she saw it, but after a day it died. It turned into a pettleless flower, nothing interesting, something you step on in the street. Anyway, that was I suppose the first time I felt like I had killed someone, someone? I mean something, flowers aren’t people HAHA, how could I get that mixed up.

*Door Slams, look to the right*

Steve: Well, I think my time is nearly over with this statement, but I just want to say that killing Stella was not my intention, if anything I wanted to save her, but the drugs, the drinking, the lies, the cheating, it all just became too much and well… I just couldn’t…. I didn’t….

I am sorry Stella, I am.

*Hands reaches over to stop the recording*
